I got a kick out of watching this little fox run circles around the Polar Bear.
I was in Churchill, Manitoba to photograph Polar Bears. Where there are Polar Bears you often get a bonus of Arctic Fox to photograph. The Fox seem completely fearless around the Polar Bears but they are careful to stay out of easy grasp range. Some of the Fox will follow Bears out on the ice and feed off scraps of Seal the Polar Bears leave behind.
Around people the Arctic Fox seem almost tame. An occasional one will take small bits of food out of your hand although this is a dangerous practice as some of the Fox carry rabies. Their fearlessness makes them a photographers delight. The only problem is they are always in constant motion never pausing in a good pose.
