Pelican in the Florida Keys

from the Ray I. Doan Photographic Collection

When Florida goes into it's winter dry season parts of the everglades start to dry up.  This creates some puddles that are full of fish, which in turn attracts Pelicans to some unusual places.  This guy was in a puddle alongside US 1, just north of Jewfish Creek in the Florida Keys.
