Great Blue Heron in the Everglades

I photographed this Great Blue Heron as he was hunting from a stand at the end of the Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park.  It was early spring and he was just starting to develop his mating plumage.  There was a four foot alligator laying near by that was making him uncomfortable but not nervous enough to leave.
