This mother leopard was called Halftail and her cub is called Zawadi. They were both well known in the Masai Mara of Kenya, Africa. I took this photograph in 1996. Halftail was speared and killed a few years later by a young Masai boy when she attacked a goat in the herd he was guarding. I photographed Zawadi again, as an adult, in 2001. I also photographed Zawadi's adult daughter. See Triple #1435 below for three generation of this leopard family. |
