Spotting a leopard is one the most difficult big game viewing challenges in Africa. Leopards are elusive. They hunt mainly at night and during the day they rest in difficult to spot areas. We searched long and hard and finally got lucky when we spotted this young female leopard. It was almost dusk when we caught up with her, so she was out and about. She paused on this old termite mound for a couple minutes. When we got close enough we could see the leopard was the daughter of Zawadi and the granddaughter of Halftail. See Triple #1435 below for three generation of this leopard family. |
