Black Wolf

In the Ray and Steven Doan Photographic Collection

This Black Wolf is only a color variation of the Grey Wolf, Canis Lupus, which is one of the three kinds of wolves in the world. There is the Red Wolf, Canis Rufus that is found in the southeastern US, and the Abyssinian Wolf Canis Simensis, from Ethiopia. The wolves were photographed in Canada and Alaska. In an effort to reduce disturbances to the wolves we do not specify locations.
