These King Penguins are coming ashore on South Georgia Island in Antarctica. Penguins recognize their young by sound, so as soon as they hit the beach, they start squawking and calling to find their chick. I found that the King Penguin Rookeries were very noisy places because the chicks may have wandered off anywhere among the 100,000 plus birds. |
