These amazingly photogenic salt ponds are terraced down an Andes mountainside in the Incas Sacred Valley near Maras Peru. The water to fill the ponds comes from a single salty spring. The Peruvians have been using these ponds to evaporate out salt for generations. The ponds are still in use today. |
