The Ostrich is the worlds largest and heaviest bird with male Ostrich weighting up to almost 300 lbs.  It's also the world's fastest running bird.  In short sprints it can reach 45 mph and it can run 30 mph for half an hour.  This Somali Ostrich was displaying for us in the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania Africa.
