Spotted Hyena walk with a distinctive ambling gate. They can lope tirelessly at 6 mph and they can gallop at speeds up to 30 mph for at least a couple of miles. While they sometimes hunt in packs they do most of their hunting and foraging alone. A lone Spotted Hyena is capable of running down and killing, unaided, a bull Wildebeest three times its own weight. |
