Female Snowy Owl in Canada

This regal Snowy Owl lives in the Canadian high arctic.  In the high arctic  there are no trees so these birds make their nest directly on the ground , which is permanently frozen tundra.  The best time to photograph then is in the arctic spring, when the are on their nests.
