Coleman Shrimp on a Fire Urchin

In the Ray and Steven Doan Photographic Collection

These beautiful and rare little shrimp are a little over an inch long.  They clip off all the spines on a small area of a Fire Urchin and spend their entire lives in this one spot.  The Fire Urchins have very toxic spines and are found at depths of a 100 feet and greater.  We photographed  these shrimp with an underwater camera with a macro lens in Papua New Guinea.
