Black-Backed or Silver-Backed Jackal

Black-Backed Jackals are also called Silver-Backed Jackals.  They're mainly nocturnal when they're hunting grass rats, which are the most important item on their menu.  They also appear almost fearless when they dart in to steal tidbits from lion and hyena kills.  This one was resting in the Masai Mara of Kenya Africa.
