This young Spotted Hyena was one of a least a dozen juvenile Hyenas, of various ages, that were sharing a large communal den in the Masai Mara of Kenya Africa. Spotted Hyenas are social carnivores but clan members compete more and cooperate less than most other social carnivores. Clan members don't guard the communal den or bring food to the pups at the den. |
