There are 23 species of Hornbills in Sub Saharan Africa. Seven of these species are found in East Africa where we photographed this Red-Billed Hornbill. The Red-Billed Hornbill has a bill that it uses like a pick-ax to dig in the ground for dung beetle larvae. It prefers to forage on open ground in heavily grazed areas. |
