Porcupine & Elk Antler

In the Ray and Steven Doan Photographic Collection

This porcupine seemed very interested in this old Elk antler.  Porcupines don't have very good eye sight so maybe he was just trying to figure out what it was.  In the winter porcupines spend a lot time in evergreen trees.  In the evergreens  they are protected from the wind and they can eat the green needles.
